Born in China in 1981, Steve Fang Yucheng has dedicated his life to the mastery and promotion of Chinese art. At the tender age of 8, he began his journey into Chinese painting, a passion that has flourished and evolved over decades. His artistic talents also extend to Chinese calligraphy and seal carving, solidifying his reputation as a master of traditional Chinese art forms.

In 1999, Steve moved to Singapore to pursue higher education and graduated from the prestigious National University of Singapore in 2003. Despite his academic endeavors, his commitment to the arts remained unwavering. Over the years, Steve has refined his artistic skills, gaining proficiency in a wide range of Chinese painting techniques and styles, including Gongbi (meticulous style), Xieyi (freehand style), Mogu (boneless style), and many others. His works seamlessly blend traditional craftsmanship with a contemporary artistic vision, showcasing his deep understanding of the essence of Chinese painting.

As an established artist, Steve’s works are celebrated for their versatility and mastery of various techniques. His Gongbi paintings captivate with intricate details and vivid colors, while his Xieyi works convey bold expressions and emotional depth. His Mogu style paintings, known for their subtle layering and ethereal beauty, reflect his ability to innovate within the traditions of Chinese art.

Steve has shared his expertise with students from all over the world, cultivating an appreciation for Chinese art across diverse cultures. His role as an educator is a cornerstone of his artistic career, and his classes are known for their emphasis on both technique and the philosophy behind Chinese art.

Currently, Steve serves as an art teacher at Achievor Art and Culture Centre in Singapore. In this role, he continues to nurture a new generation of artists while actively promoting the timeless traditions of Chinese art. Through his teaching and artistic contributions, Steve Fang Yucheng plays a pivotal role in enriching Singapore’s cultural landscape and preserving the rich heritage of Chinese art for future generations.
